A survey of over 40'000 people voted Definitely -Maybe the best Uk album ever made over Sgt Peppers in 2nd. OK computer by Radiohead 3rd, and what's the Story-Morning Glory in 4th.

    Interesting

Sgt Peppers is not the best Beatles album and it might not be better than Definatley maybe, but there is no doubt it was very important in the development of pop music.

Hell, I saw that Top 10 in the list, and none of those friggin' albums would even land in my personal Top 100.

<font size="4" face="Arial">Thank God somebody in this world still says that. I like them, but I am soooo fucking sick of them STILL being the "Greatest Band Ever" and all that bullshit. I am so sick of the bands that you are supposed to like. I shocked people by my claim that the best thing Black Sabbath ever did was WITHOUT Ozzy and was in fact Mob Rules and that Ozzy's best material was with Randy and NOT Iommi. Seriously, why do we all have to swing by the nuts of what is supposed to be great? Ozzy era Sab was boring drudge and The Beatles, whilst setting many standards, are not beyond passing for greatness. I would rather spend days listening to Hanoi Rocks than listening to The Beatles, and Hanoi isn't even my favorite band (though I have completely given up on having a "favorite band" anymore).

I'm not terribly into Oasis nor the Beatles. Have a couple of records from each and listen to them once every decade maybe.

I can't remember the titles of the Oasis albums, but I have the 3 first ones and think they just got better.

The first one seemed a bit long and boring. Not a lot going on in the songs and most of them are waaaaayyyyy too long. Some cool ones though, btu not an album I cherish at all. What's The Story (isn't that the second one?) was a bit better, but still also a bit boring.

The third one is the one I thought was best. It also had it's long songs, but generally the quality of the songs on that album is a lot better than on the 2 first ones.

I preffer the Beatles when they do pop/rock... the later acid era is not my thing at all. Sgt. Pepper has some cool songs, but way too much bullshit in my oppinion. A Day In The Life could have been a brilliant song but "Hey, let's fuck it up with a looooooong middle part that means nothing and isn't really clever, just to have it there" LOL

Well, just my 2 cents as usual

See, and I think the middle part (McCartney's part) is the best part of that song.

    Hmmmm.... The noise part, Carl?

That's wierd.... or maybe not. It's just a matter of taste I suppose, but I thought I went with a safe bet in dissing that. Seems not LOL

<font size="4" face="Arial">Do you mean the noise leading into the McCartney 30's style thing that comes about in the middle? Of the actual McCartney bit part of the song?
